Vintage 1950s Womens Full Length Wool Coat

Attention vintage clothing collectors. This was my mother’s coat which was likely purchased sometime between 1956 and 1962. Despite its age, it’s in very good condition being well taken care of all these years. I honestly can’t tell if the collar has real or faux fur; however, it looks and feels real. Shoulder to hem length is 36 inches. If interested, contact me for additional dimensions.

There is only one tiny label inside the coat which indicates it was made by the National Coat and Suit Industry and made by union labor; the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU). The Coat and Suit Industry National Recovery Board was a trade organization that came about in order to assure that garments were made in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards. The label assured consumers that the garment was made by workers who were not working excessive hours and who were being paid a fair hourly wage. This label is seen from the mid-1930s into the 1960s.
